LocationRooks Edge is in the incredible area of the Macedon Ranges. Based in Bullengarook, only 10 minutes from Gisborne*, the area is well known for boutique accommodation, winery’s, artisan crafts and gourmet food safaris. Within a 10 to 30 minute drive you can tour 16 wineries, visit hatted Kyneton restaurants, visit cafes and galleries or visit a farmers market. There are high quality restaurants a short drive to Gisborne. (*40 minutes from Melbourne International Airport, 50 minutes from Melbourne city)
If you are looking for outdoor activities Lerderderg State Park and Wombat State Forest are a haven for outdoor activites such as hiking and mountain bike riding. If you enjoy watching the wildlife we share the property with many wonderful Australian animals including Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats, Laughing Kookaburras, Sulphur crested cockatoos, Yellow-tailed black cockatoos, Blue winged grass parrots, Wedge tailed eagles, Magpies, Brown Ducks, Red-rumped spotted pardalots, Fairy wrens, Boobook and Brown owls, microbats and the occasional Koala. With very little light pollution the night sky is a brilliant spectacle to try some amateur astronomy. To see when the next meteor shower or astronomical event is happening a great site is Southern Sky Watch. Or look for Sky Walk in your app store. |
